Note: This food truck is not currently operational.
Go Country 105, a Los Angeles radio station, is rolling out their own food truck aka The Go Country 105 Chuck Wagon. The Chuck Wagon has hit the streets serving a variety of Tex-Mex, Southern and “country” favorites. Currently the Chuck Wagon is focusing on lunch service only.
The truck is being operated by B Sweet Catering, which will also be announcing their own food truck with dessert items, sandwiches, snacks, and sushi very soon.
The Chuck Wagon will be serving creative menu items including the “Boot Scootin’ Boogie” BBQ Chicken Sandwich, Shrimp Po’ Boys, Chili with fresh-baked cornbread and creative salads. For dessert great cupcakes and other “B Sweet” desserts will be available. Regular Chuck Wagon fans will also be able to pre-order and create their own sandwiches.
The band Steel Magnolia will help launch Chuck Wagon on the KTLA morning news on January 24, 2011. As a result they are the namesake of the Steel Magnolia Sandiwch, an original BLT with thick sliced bacon, green leaf lettuce, beef steak tomato, grilled chicken breast, Haas avocado and light mayo on classic white bread.
KTLA Television has also gotten their name on a sandwich with maple ham, scrambled egg whites, white cheddar cheese, sliced vine ripe tomato, and an aioli spread on a Brioche bun.
Chuck Wagon will also proivde fun radio station style promotions, giveaways or even a live performance by a county music superstar as they serve lunch. Businesses that the Chuck Wagon visits are likely to get on-air mentions on the radio station as well.
This is the only radio station that we know of that is marketing itself with the creative use of a food truck dedicated to them 100%! Will this start a trend?
