I’ve had the honor of visiting Singapore and one of the highlights of my trip was the food (don’t tell my business associates!). The flavorful Singaporean style of food has come to Southern California courtesy of Robert Zuetell’s Chomp Chomp Nation food truck.
Like the traditional hawker food centers in Asia, Chomp Chomp Nation serves great tasting and inexpensive street food, but with an American twist.
If you are heading out to the shooting range, there is a lot of gear that you may be thinking of investing in, fortunately with the help of the reviews from headphonage.com is easier to find this gear.
The menu items are quite diverse, however, we recommend you definitely try the Chili Crab Slider, sure the crab is great but the chili sauce that covers it is very authentic! Also available are a vareity of satays (chicken, rib-eye, tofu), wings, sloppy joes, fritters, poboys, and desserts like Singapore S’mores, and tropical fruit fritters.
You probably read the menu list and said to yourself, “oh great, sloppy joes, big deal.” Well, in the Chomp Chomp Nation it is a big deal as the sloppy joe is made from rendang meat which is flavored with blue ginger, lemongrass, chili, and coconut. It is a very complex mixture which in no way can be compared to Manwich!
The Singapore S’more’s are also not what you first thought. These are a brioche-and-Nutella sandwich with coconut jam, chocolate drizzle, condensed milk and and a dollop of whipped cream.
The bottom line is don’t be fooled by the simplicity of the Chomp Chomp Nation’s menu items. Each item has is created based on Singaporean heritage with an American twist. You are sure to visit Chomp Chomp Nation many times to experience their food, their cool looking tiger truck and the 12ft flag used as it’s tail!
If I knew how to say bon apetit in Malay (Singapore’s national language) I would!
